Student competition
ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME : PhD, MSc and BSc students!
The organizers wish to encourage the students’ participation by organizing a SEPARATE SESSION where students can present their research work. Students who wish can participate in the student competition.
If you wish to participate in the competition choose as presentation type: “student oral & competition” or “student poster & short presentation & competition”.
The best three student oral presentations as well as the best three posters will be awarded. The awards will be supported by ISEKI-Food Association and the conference sponsors.

Topics & Evaluation
The topics are the e-conference topics.
A maximum of 2 abstracts for each first author can be submitted.
The abstract submission for the conference has an online procedure which has to be followed. Abstracts sent by e-mail will not be accepted. All abstracts will undergo a reviewing process before acceptance. Abstracts for oral and poster presentations need to have between minimum 600 and maximum 2000 characters (no spaces).
The students session: Presentations
• Oral presentation: max. 10 minutes + 5 minutes online discussion
• Poster presentation
a) discussions in forums and in the breakout room for poster not participating to the students competition. One of the poster’s author is requested to be present in the Zoom breakout rooms, where the e-conference participants can visit and discuss with the authors.
b) posters participating to the students competition will be also presented in the breakout rooms were the e-conference participants can visit and discuss with the authors. Each poster participating to the competition will be presented for 3 minute using 4 presentation slides (short oral presentation).
For students participating to the competition NO PRE-RECORDED PRESENTATION WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ORAL PRESENTATIONS or short orals presentations for students’ POSTERS. Competitors using pre-recorded presentations will be disqualified.
The moderators will be very strict about the time! Discussion in forums will also be available.
EVALUATION OF THE STUDENTS’ WORK
Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee using the following criteria: innovation, reason for or value of this study, impact (social, economic, environmental, &/or industrial applicability).
Oral presentation, Posters & Short Orals will be evaluated by the Award Committee.
CRITERIA FOR THE EVALUATION OF STUDENT ORAL, POSTERS & SHORT ORAL PRESENTATIONS
STUDENT ORAL PRESENTATIONS
General Criteria: Innovation, Reason for or value of this study, Impact (social, economic, environmental, &/or industrial applicability) Overall Clarity of the study, clarity and structure of the presentation- ability to convey message to audience - concise and clear. Structure of the slides. Responses to questions (concise and clear). (20 points)
Introduction: State of the art, Reason for or value of this study (20 points)
Methods: Quality of experimental design. (20 points)
Results: Appropriate analytical methods/ technologies and statistical analyses of the data, complete and understandable graphics (20 points)
Conclusion: Convincing and concise conclusion (presentation of the impact) (20 points)
Total: 100 points
STUDENT POSTER and SHORT ORAL PRESENTATION
General Criteria: Innovation, Reason for or value of this study, Impact (social, economic, environmental, &/or industrial applicability). Overall Clarity of the study, clarity and structure of the presentation - ability to convey message to audience - concise and clear. Poster structure and organization, graphical presentation of the information. Responses to questions (concise and clear). (20 points)
